1. DATES & LOCATION

  •  Saturday, June 21 – Sunday, June 22, 2025
  •  LOCATION: Unit – 145, 9706 Fair Oaks Drive, Fair Oaks CA 95628

 

2. TOURNAMENT FORMAT:

  • TOURNAMENT FORMAT:    INDIVIDUAL SWISS
  • SCHOLASTIC SECTION  –     U500, U1000
  • TOTAL ROUNDS              –    5
  • ROUND TIME: 10:00AM, 11:00AM, 1:00PM, 2:10PM 3:30PM
  • TIME CONTROL: G30;D0

 

  • NON SCHOLASTIC SECTION  –    U1300, U1800
  • TOTAL ROUNDS                         –    7
  • ROUND TIME: SATURDAY 9:00AM, 11:30AM 2:30PM 6:30PM SUNDAY 9:00AM, 11:30AM 2:30PM
  • TIME CONTROL: G60;D05

 

  • BLITZ SECTION : OPEN, U1000
  • TOTAL ROUND  – 7
  • TIME CONTROL – G05;D05
  • ROUND TIME – 4:30PM – 6:00PM  

 

3. BYES

  • Byes are available for Players in any round in case they cannot participate.

         But would like to stay in the Tournament. 

  • A Maximum of 2 Half-Point Byes can be requested in this tournament. 
  • Late Registrations will receive a Half-Point bye for any missed round up to a total of 1 Rounds. 
  • To Request a Bye after Registration, Please send email to LEARNINGPAWN@GMAIL.COM With NAME(Last, First) and USCF ID.

 

4. PRIZE

      Cash Prize – U1800 – $300,$150, $75 (Based on 25 Entries)

                             U1300 – $200, $100, $50 (Based on 25 Entries)

                             BLITZ  – $25, $15, $5 (Based on 25 entries) on each section

                             Top 5 players will receive Trophies in U500 and U1000 Section

 

5. REGISTRATION

  •  Onsite Registration: No Onsite Registration. online only before 8AM.
  •  ENTRY FEE: Scholastic(U500, U1000) – $50 BY June 18th  After that  $10 EXTRA. 
  • ENTRY FEE: U1800 – $100, U1300-$70 by June 18th after that $10 EXTRA.
  • ENTRY FEE: Open, U1000 – $10
  •  Entry Fee Needs to send through zelle or paypal with ‘for friends and family’ option to learningpawn@gmail.com 
  •  Late Fee on the day of the tournament: $20
  •  10% of entry fee will be charged for all cancellations & refunds before .

6. ELIGIBILITY

  • Players Must have current US Chess Federation Membership.
  • Expiration date of their US Chess Membership must be later than the last day of the Tournament.

 7. TOURNAMENT RULES

  • Standard US CHESS RULES Apply.

  • Forfeit Time is 30 minutes. Please be considerate of your opponent, and don’t be late! Let us know if you can’t make it to one round!


8. FAQ

  • What Do the Time Controls Mean?

          The Time Controls tell you how much time you have for each game.
          For Example, G/30+0D means game in 30 minutes with a 0-second delay with each move. 
          This means  you get 30 minutes, your opponent gets 30minutes, and at each move 0 seconds are delayed to your clock.

  • How Many Games/Rounds?

          The 5SS before the time control means there are 5 rounds or five games a player can play in the tournament. 
          The tournaments are never elimination, so win or lose you can stay in the tournament.
